The Bed & Breakfast "Atena" is situated in Tolfa to 1,7 Kms from the plaza of the historical center of the country, in the place Cibona, silent and absorbed zone in the ideal green for vacations and relax. It is far 68 Kms from Rome, 25 Kms from S. Severa. You can affirm very well that we are to few Kms from the sea, to about a hour from the Capital, place therefore ideal for vacations of different nature. Tolfa is a country to the center of the ancient etruria, distant few Kms from Cerveteri, S. Severa, Tarquinia, Vulci. The country is situated to 484 meters on the level of the sea, with around 5000 inhabitants, sets on the western side of the homonym mountains and dominated from the ancient Tower of the Frangipanes. The territory tolfetano has been interested from human installations since the age neolitica and in the period villanoviano. Marked it is the presence of the etruschis as the various necropolises that verify the presence of inhabited centers testify. To these the Romans that have left various traces took over. For good part of the middle age they were the gentlemen of the place Frangipanes, that exploited the mines of the iron and aluminum of which the territory was rich. .: Parties and events in Tolfa:
- January - Party of the Epiphany to horse; it takes place a suggestive nighttime procession of pockmarks (also women) to horse
- March - Party of St. Joseph; the notable manufactured articles of the local craftsmanship are exposed and the traditional raced to horse.
- July - Party of the Hypocrite and other local typical dishes; gastronomic stands are prepared. Show of the local craftsmanship and party of the ancient works, all accompanied by games and musical shows.
- First Destination' of August - Tournament of the Pockmarks with historical parade and preliminary. Tell an urban legend that Buffalo Bill came once in Italy and competed with the pockmarks maremmani, but lost!
- Second Destination' of August - Party of the Madonna of the Sughera; beautiful procession in custom of epoch that proceeds for the whole country.
- First Week of September - Party patronale of Sant'Egidio; a week of celebrations with the raced of the horses, the procession and the raising in sky of the "balls of Sant'Egidio", that are aerostatic globes.
